I love Cormack McCarthy's The Road, and I am endeavoring to read it annually during winter. This adaptation was somber and atmospheric, but I prefer actually reading the book in this case. The illustrations are done well, so this is just a personal preference, but one I feel justified in sharing as the comic adaptation struggles to portray everything in the novel. If you're a fan already then you'll enjoy this, but I would hesitate to experience the story in this way your first time.
Moderate: Child death, Gore, Suicidal thoughts, Violence, Cannibalism, Death of parent, Fire/Fire injury, Injury/Injury detail
