Coriolanus Snow basically sucks from the beginning and having that expectation helped. He’s incredibly selfish and manipulative. He didn’t actually have a friendship with Sejanus. Everything was about how their relationship can serve him. That’s why it made perfect sense when he used a jabberjay to turn Sejanus in, which got him hanged. Then he played on the Plinth’s grief for money. The character development for Snow if basically him solidifying his views on how humanity needs to be controlled. He also becomes desensitized to killing people and explaining to himself that the murders are necessary. He clearly didn’t love Lucy Gray. He kind of talked himself into it, but at one point, he said he hated music, which is Lucy Gray’s whole life.
