pplydm 's review for:
Elephants Can Remember
by Agatha Christie
“It’s a terrible story,” said Mrs. Oliver, “terrible. And all those people I talked to—yes, I can see now, they all remembered something.”
- I think this passage here sums the entire novel in a sense.
“We will drive back to London. We must return to everyday life, forget tragedies and love affairs.”
- The story of the demise of the twins and General Ravenscroft is a horrible and terrible indeed. I do hope nothing like that have happened or will ever happen in real life.
This is my favorite quote from the novel and suits as the proper ending too:
“Elephants can remember,” said Mrs. Oliver, “but we are human beings and mercifully human beings can forget.”
