The Wedding Agreement
by Annie Dyer
I don't have high expectations for books like this, just want a nice easy, fun read! I feel cheated. The premise was interesting, you know what you're getting with these tropes, but my word the pacing was off. The two fall in love almost immediately, just the build up to the wedding took forever, and the "conflict" between them being a single fight near the end of the book?? It was completely pointless by then! What was the point in setting up this entire agreement for it to be scrapped by the wedding? Didn't even get to the year mark they talk about. Would have been far better for feelings to be there at the wedding and develop in their marriage gradually (what I thought would be the case!) Maybe I just prefer a slow burn, but the pacing meant you barely even got a chance to root for them before they were head over heels for each other. A very abrupt, unsatisfying ending sadly
