there will certainly some brilliant and beautiful parts, and several of the essays were powerful and entrancing. but, I struggled a lot with staying engaged in the text, as quite a few of the essays (especially the one listing all the fish) were pretty dull. just a rather meh novel for me. maybe if I read it again in the future while I was outside I would like it more.
