Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

5.0

Shatter Me, well, shattered me.

Sorry for the unfunny first line of the review, but it really did just that. This book had my feelings all over the place!!

It's set in a dystopian world, but I would consider it more of a romance book, with some government issues. I liked how the author made the focus of the book on the main characters story together. It was a different take on the dystopian genre. Normally there is a side-show romance with the main story being the BA girl, but Shatter Me was a more emotional version with many more feelings other than hate towards the government. Although there was some of that involved, too.

Juliette can't touch people. That makes everything that happens in the book interesting. I really liked Adam, too. I loved him from the moment he joined Juliette in her cell! The romance between the two is so sweet. I loved how there was a backstory to the two of them being together.

The dystopian aspects are really good, too. I loved how they wanted to use her as a weapon, but wanted it to be her decision to join them. (I could feel a Hunger Games theme going on there, kinda.)

Overall, Shatter Me was an action packed book with lots of romance! I couldn't adore this book more! Unravel Me, please come quickly!
