I love a good Cinderella retelling - and this one was excellent.

Throw in a marriage of convenience? Nailed it!

Carenza is like a ray of sunshine. She is so good and generous you can't help but like her. She's selfless almost to a fault and it broke my heart with how her step-mother treated her, especially as her father loved her so much.

Ross is scarred both inside and out, and pretty bitter because of it. It was amazing to see him mellow, and he was such a kind person behind his tough exterior.

Both of these characters deserve love, even if they don't believe it themselves.

I loved how both characters were reserved and insecure, and how together they worked through it and truly blossomed. They were so supportive of each other, and it really warmed my heart. They build each other up and help to fight back against the barrage of put-downs they've both experienced. This is an emotional read, and I loved the care it took when exploring Ross's PTSD.

This book was so easy to read. I picked it up and I got lost in a beautiful romance, I was there with the characters watching their love grow. I read this in a single sitting and loved every second.
