So I bought the first book of this series, because I didn’t have a book to read for my lunch break at work, and I was so in love with it, that I asked my librarian if she could get the next book for me. Not only did she do that but got the rest of the series and the first book of Mafi’s new series. She then texted me about it, which I thought was so funny. Librarians are the coolest.

Anyway. I LOVED THIS BOOK! I had to get that out of my system. This book, especially the last 100 pages or so, was absolutely amazing and so fast pacing. My eyes couldn’t read fast enough. I stayed up way too late to finish this book and paid for it dearly at work, but it was so worth it.

I understand why there are those that want Juliette with Warner. Warner gets Juliette on a level that Adam doesn’t understand. Warner knows what it’s like to not feel loved or wanted. He doesn’t want to change Juliette, but just show her how truly amazing she is. While I like Adam; I just don’t think he is right for Juliette. He would make an excellent friend for her but I don’t see him as being any more than that.

While the metaphors are still a bit much, the plot makes up for it. It was cool to see all the different types of powers. I hope we continue to see more of that aspect. I also hope we get to learn more about the world before it went to hell. I understand that this doesn’t seem like much of a review. It’s hard to review the second book of a series without giving anything away. Hence why I talk about my feelings toward the book instead of what the book is actually about.

Overall, I can’t believe I didn’t know about this series sooner. Well, actually I can. I didn’t read any sort of dystopia novel until I was out of high school and my dad introduced me to the Hunger Games. It’s absolutely becoming one of my favorite series. I can’t wait to read the next one and read more about Warner and Juliette.
