Bright Lights, Big Christmas by Mary Kay Andrews

4.0

A delightful contemporary holiday story about a brother and sister duo who travel from the mountains of North Carolina to a street corner in Greenwich Village in New York City to sell Christmas trees for the holidays. Usually it’s her brother Murphy and their dad but this year it has to be Murphy and Kerry, because their dad has just been released from the hospital. The two set off in a vintage camper and set up their family’s Christmas tree stand on the sidewalk and in the weeks leading into Christmas, Kerry quickly becomes close with the charming neighbors who live near their stand, including Patrick and his son Austin and Heinz. It’s a sweet & clean holiday romance. I love that Kerry and her brother are welcomed and are part of this neighborhood. I would be delighted to see a Murphy novella next.
