Good Girl by Piper Lawson
4.0

Since I have started a Bookstagram with a couple of romance reader friends, I have gotten some fantastic recommendations from them. The Good Girl was one. I love me a good rockstar romance, and this story nailed it. It has all the elements, broody rock star, geeky but adorable girl, some highly charged chemistry, and a mystery or two. Add-in a smoldering slow burn and three more books to tell their story, and you have an addictive mixture.

The growing awareness between these two outwardly very different people is intriguing and draws you into their story. I love that Haley is an absolute genius and is uses those skills to get her job. She's an introvert and doesn't like certain things. These quirks do not dissuade Jax from trying to get to know her when he can get outside his headspace and see her. Her knowledge of music and how she is using her genius to improve it makes her an unforgettable character.

Let's face it, Jax needs some love. He's numbed, lonesome, and guilt-ridden for failing the expectations he puts on himself. Haley begins to pull him out of himself, the romance is coming, but then we hit that delicious tension that makes an ordinary book above average.

There is so much here, and it all demands that you keep moving forward with Jax and Haley so you can discover it all. I'm all in.
