Informative overview of the issues with the prison industrial complex in language that can be easily understood by lay people. Davis does a good job of providing the history behind how prisons today came to be and their role in continuing to oppress certain communities of people. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to learn more about why people are moving towards abolition and community-centered processes to repair harm.
