Persuasion by Jane Austen

5.0

I've never given Austen a fair shake, but I did with this, and okay, I get it. It's amazing how Austen could turn a simple conversation, or, more remarkably, even an expression into the most intense, agonizing moment. The bitterness and melancholy of the earlier parts of the book, really make the ending that much sweeter. Just lovely, tbh!
