I really wanted this to be a 5 star book. There’s a lot of stuff to feel good, truly empirically good, about, but watching the US turn into a disaster and living through a complete political failure to address a pandemic is cold water in the face. That said, rational decisions based on data are of course the best way to run the world. Unfortunately that’s not how the US is run. I do not feel soothed.
