Ghana Must Go
by Taiye Selasi
Family seeks family without realizing they have just that--family. So if you didn't catch that--this is a family drama with some African-American flair and touches. The complexity of family identity is interwoven with the complexity of cultural identity. Selasi creates a great exploration of this, although the novel gets a little too dramatic with some backstory elements that just seem to be "too much" and confuse the message rather than support an otherwise beautiful story of what it means to feel without roots and to find the family you had all along.
