Book six in the Redwood Coast Rescue series, Searching for Hope, sets the scene for a new overarching suspense plot that will carry across the final four novels. Centred on a long-running missing person’s case which has featured as a subplot in previous novels, the mystery element was the most engaging part of the story with a number of thrilling twists and turns. The romantic aspect was a miss for me in this book. Whilst both FMC Ellie and MMC Callum were interesting individual characters, they didn’t have much in the way of chemistry; I found their conversations and the insight into their internal selves repetitive, though this did improve significantly in the latter half, making their interactions feel more sincere. Although I wasn’t as invested in the romance in this story, I’m excited to see how the overarching story progresses in book seven, Searching Blind
