2000s 's review for:
Borderlands/La Frontera
by Gloria E. Anzaldúa
The genre blending here...Gloria Anzaldúa can do academic, poetry, horror, memoir, folktale, myth, and while jumping between two languages. Very ambitious and challenging read that mostly paid off. I got lost in some of the more abstract metaphysical sections and I didn't love the way she talked about indigenous cultures...like why is there mystifying here. What if we did more research?
