I first read this book in 2022 not long after it released and I loved it. This reread was done as a buddy read with a friend who hadn't yet read it as I've not completed reading the series so we decided to do it together. I had just as good of a time with it this time as I did the first time around. I really like Knox & Naomi, I love their sarcasm, banter, snark & chemistry throughout the story, i was hooked from the start and immediately interested and invested in these characters, side characters, story and the grumpy/sunshine small town vibes are immaculately done. I love Lucy Scores writing style and I always have a fun time reading her books, I listened to this on audio and Lila Winters & Sebastian York are perfect as Naomi & Knox they both do an incredible job delivering the deadpan snarky humour and more emotional moments. The chemistry and spice between Naomi & Knox is great and adds to the overall connection between them, the pacing was good and there was enough going on to keep the story moving forward. I'm looking forward to getting to the next two books in the series. 🌶🌶
