I wish we’d gotten to know Prudence better and see her and Alma’s relationship evolve more. I found it interesting to follow Alma through her whole life. It made me reflect upon how long and how many chapters and characters one life can contain. Although I found it sprawling and without a clear focus at times, I think that’s more reflective of reality and appreciated it for that.
