The Narrative of Sojourner Truth by Sojourner Truth

Much of this biography was moving, fascinating and educational. However there is quite a lot about Isabella/ Sojourner’s relationship to Christianity, which became tiresome. I think a person who believes in God and or believes in Christianity may find this part of the book just as moving and fascinating, but it was mostly opaque for me.
I am glad to have read this; the accounts of Sojourner’s life and her family broadened my understanding of the enslavement of Black peoples in the US, and gave me more questions about aspects I still don’t know enough about.
