Mine Till Midnight by Lisa Kleypas

4.5

CW: this book is historical fiction featuring a Romany protagonist who does experience acts of racism and discrimination on the page though never from the love interest. Such examples includes casual but racially insensitive comments from side characters and overtly racist comments from the antagonist.

In a genre that continues to uplift mediocre (and even abusive) men, it really is a treat to read about a male character that is genuinely a good person, goes above and beyond for their love, and sounds so hot like he’s godly handsome. That’s Cam Rohan. I deem him one of the best romantic heroes ever written.

Other pros to this is includes: my other true love Miss Beatrix Hathaway, exceptional writing with lots of historical details, settings that are characters, a fantastic family dynamic that would make the Bridgertons weep, and a romance where the pair fits together so perfectly.

Mine Till Midnight is a near perfect historical romance by a masterful writer. I can’t wait to read more in this series!
