TL;DR: I may have enjoyed the plot in a different format (TV show, movie, or podcast). It didn't work for me as a book, the twists were predicable, and the denouement was just really unsatisfying.

REVIEW:

I've come to accept that while I love thrillers as a genre, I don't always love books that fall under this category. I'm rather picky about my thrillers, and some just feel more suited to a different medium than a book. This was definitely one of those instances for me.

I listened to the audiobook so that helped some, because I'm sure I would have DNF'ed this if I read it physically.

I just felt like the story was a bit convoluted at parts, but that the overall reveal was something that could have been seen from a mile away. I even predicted the different red herrings the author threw at us. I want to be left guessing and end up surprised when I read a thriller.

While it wasn't the worst thing I've read, or even the worst thriller out there, it just didn't work for me. The only lasting impression it left was that I felt unsatisfied after finishing it.
