The Friend Zone by Abby Jimenez

Did not finish book. Stopped at 10%.
I’ve never read anything by this author before but have heard great things, so I am surprised to be DNFing it after 37 pages. I had to make myself keep reading after 15 pages and finally put it down. This is just not the energy for me.

First up we have Josh the male protagonist on page 28 thinking: “And to be honest, I’ve been enjoying not having to deal with a woman. It was a reprieve. It had been my experience that all women, even the ones you’re only having sex with, are on some level exhausting. I wasn’t in any particular hurry to get back to it.”

Then we have Kristen the female protagonist on page 37 saying to Josh: “I say what I think. I don’t have a coy bone in my body. Yes, you’re sexy. Enjoy the compliment because you won’t always like what I say to you, and I won’t care one way or the other if you do or don’t.”

They are both just too abrasive for my taste even for this being enemies to lovers, so I’m out.
