Moribito II: Guardian of the Darkness by Nahoko Uehashi

A fun sequel to Moribito I: Guardian of the Spirit. This times it delves into Balsa's past and her native Kanbal. More establishment and set-up in this story required than the first, so pacing was just a little bit slower. The elements weave together nicely for a satisfying tale. Most of the characters are consistent and smart. I will continue to read the books in these series for light but thoughtful adventures.
