A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas

3.0

In spite of quite a few people warning me about this book, I went into it fairly unbiased and open. Unfortunately, it just wasn't my style.

I can understand why this novella wasn't a hit like the rest of the ACOTAR series, especially ACOMAF. It just didn't have the room to breathe and SJM didn't have the chance to flesh out all the storylines she was desperately trying to jam into 229 pages. There was a lot going on in this book, presumably to set the stage for the upcoming Cassian/Nesta sequel. But I just couldn't get into it. There seemed to be so many unnecessary details, and so many different voices drowning each other out. Also, kind of strange that some POVs were in first-person while others were third-person???

Anyway, I just didn't love this book. But I'm still very much looking forward to A Court of Silver Flames (which is, thank God, 600+ pages)!!
