Book 39
Set on the western frontier in 1870, Captain Kidd makes his living traveling around reading the newspaper to gathered groups of people. He is tasked with returning a girl to her relatives that was stolen by the Kiowa tribe. Not remembering anything before her time with her Kiowa family, she isn't keen on returning. The writing, though unnoteworthy, doesn't distract from the story. The characters are strong and develop dynamic relationships. I'm always surprised by how much I enjoy this genre! I'm looking into more novels by the author.
