Break The Rules by Julia Jarrett

5.0

Julia Jarrett’s “Break the Rules” is the first book in her newest sports romance series, Vancouver Tridents, and it’s Ronan Sinclair and Willow Lawson’s story.

In my opinion, Ronan and Willow’s story was very well-written, and the best part was that it also had some of my favorite tropes, including sports (baseball) romance, workplace, and single dad.

From the moment they met, it was obvious that Willow was the only woman on Ronan’s mind, and it was so wonderful to see how much he cared about her.

I also loved how devoted he was to his daughter, Peyton, and how much respect he has for his mother, Pam. Family was very important to him, and it was so nice to see that in a main character.

As for Willow, I could actually relate to the walls she put up in an attempt to protect herself. I could understand her fears, but I was hoping she would find a way to get past them, so she could give her and Ronan’s relationship a real chance.

I thought Willow could be closed off at times, but she had her reasons, and I respected them. But I also thought that she was very sweet, and that she had such a huge heart. I also loved that she made an effort to get to know Peyton as well. This was absolutely a 5 star read for me!
