This book contains details of abusive behaviour, mental health, death, effect of grief and pain (emotional and physical).
If any of these topics are your sensitive points, this book isn't suited for you.

At first, I was expecting a thriller, but, upon reading I found something better. A family mystery waiting to be solved.

At first Sam hated his gramma but then upon visiting her continuously when she's on her deathbed, Sam begins to grow a bond with his gramma.
This bond made my heart warm. His gramma's eyes were brighter and she seemed more full of life when Sam visited. It was beautiful.

Sam didn't exactly have an easy past. After his mother's disappearance, his father turned to Sam and Tom, his younger brother, taking out his anger on them both. Sam went to see a therapist to help cope.
Growing up, he was desperate to find more about his mother, and now, with his gramma in her final days, Sam's time is running out.

This book was shocking, yet it was beautiful. M Jonathan Lee's writing style was so smooth and I read this entire book in ONE day!
