thereadingrunnner 's review for:
Gilt
by Jamie Brenner
I received a copy of this novel in a Goodreads giveaway in exchange for my honest review.
I always appreciate a light and easy read every now and again and this book was just that. It revolves around the Pavlin family, and their diamond company established in 1919, who put engagement rings on the map. There is family drama and the search for the (missing?) family heirloom Electric Rose diamond ring that makes this novel fast paced and engaging (pun intended).
Is it fluffy at times? Sure. It is wrapped up neat as a piece of jewelry in a Tiffany box? Yup. Do we all need a book like this occasionally? Of course!
And it gave me some of the feels of a different favorite book of mine that is based off of a family heirloom jewel, "The Books of Rachel," by Joel Gross, so this one was a winner for me.
