4.5 stars easily, probably 4.5 little chilies too (there were a couple of scenes I had to pause on because I couldn't read it and deal with being that wet in public)

I found this book from an Instagram reel and said, "Vampires and BDSM? Sign me up, " and they had free downloads in their link tree, so I downloaded and started it, not expecting much or knowing anything about the story.

I've been in a huge reading slump the last two months and have only finished 1 book that wasn't an audiobook, and when I tell you that I DEVOURED this in like a day and a half..... girl. It was so good that I NEEDED the second one immediately and subscribed on Patreon just so I can get it early too.

Firstly, I know all books say "this doesn't represent real bdsm." yah yah, but I actually thought this was represented pretty well from the FMC's perspective. There are definitely some dubcon vibes so be sure to check any trigger warnings. The main dynamic between the FMC and MC is a Master/Pet relationship so very big on pet play (she's a wolf duh). But it talked about her mental state while playing with him and how she felt free and didn't have to worry about thinking or decisions because she trusted him to make the right ones and that is a very good representation of a true submissive headspace when in a scene, at least in my opinion, and I thought that was refreshing to see an author write a BDSM book and actually know what that entails instead of just using BDSM as clickbait when it's really just mildly kinky. She is a virgin and wants to keep for virginity intact for reasons you will find out so this spice is alot of anal play, oral and toys but boy is it goooooood!

Second, plot wise, I knew from the start something about Kira had to be special... I was NOT expecting that exactly though, so I'm very curious to see how that plays out.
I am also curious to learn more about Barbara because I know she's important in this next one or else they wouldn't introduce her. I feel like she's a badass lady, and I can't wait.
We haven't even met Gloria yet, but all my homies hate Gloria, amirite?
We love Nathaniel, truly, but I was not expecting that last little bit of plot twist. Looking back now, I can see the signs pointing, but at the time, I definitely did not at all. So he has a little bit of groveling to do, but I'm sure he looks absolutely beautiful on his knees.

My only qualm, and this is a personal preference it has absolutely nothing to do with the writing style, it's written in 3rd person and I don't LOVE that. You do still get dual POVs between Nathaniel and Kira, and you do still get their feelings and thoughts portrayed through as if it was 1st person, so thats what got me through it just fine. It's just weird to me that it's like "Nathaniel sat" but also referencing things as "what she means to me". Again just my personal preference, didn't take away anything from the experience however.
