Death of a Bookseller has two interweaving narratives ā specifically, the perspectives of colleagues working in a bookstore. One, Roach, is true crime-obsessed and morbid. The other, Laura, is well-liked but trying to overcome her own grief and stress via alcohol. As their stories intertwine and obsession comes into play, the story gets darker and darker, with an underlying (but fairly superficial) examination of the ethics of true crime.
Iād recommend this to fans of dark/complex protagonists. TW for the glorification of serial killers and true crime.
