The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern

4.0

Magical, mystical and beautiful!

This book deserves even more praise!

I honestly don't know where to begin, I want to say so much but I don't want this review to drag for too long.
The way this book is written feels like you're listening to a fair-tale, there is always something exciting that is about to happen drawing you more into this world that Morgenstern has created.

I strongly believe this could be a good book for those who don't usually read the fantasy genre. It is very light on the fantasy side; there isn't any complex magic systems and it is set in our world - putting this book in urban fantasy category.

Morgenstern knows how to write characters that make you fall in love with them in only a few characters! And she knows how to create atmosphere!!! I cannot give her enough credit for the masterpiece she has presented!

The only reason I am not giving it a 5 star would be the ending... It is one of those open endings, which I'm personally not a fan of. There are some things that I left me like "whhhaaaa??? Did I miss something" or there are areas that have not been answered.
But despite that, this book deserves more than one read, it's the type of book that you must read a few more times, and each time you read it you learn something new - seeing something you didn't notice the first or second time round.

I think that after my second or third read through that 4 stars might become a 5 stars...
I would also recommend the Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern! Between the two books she has written I like more The Starless Sea.
