Traffic: Why We Drive the Way We Do and What It Says About Us
by Tom Vanderbilt
Vanderbilt's observations are interesting, and I felt like he got a bit Kevin Kelly in his discussion of emergent behavior and comparison of driving/human behavior to locusts and ants. The book is readable in a day and that's all one should spend on it. It's nothing spectacular but it is interesting to think about as drivers/walkers/passengers. I was impressed with nearly 100 pages of notes and sources.
