A Holly Jilly Christmas by Emma St. Clair

4.5

Jillian is a location scout for a small movie studio. She is headed to Sheet Cake, Texas to check it out. But for some reason the grumpy and gorgeous executive, Case, is coming with her. Which makes her nervous and kind of excited. When her car breaks down, it kicks off Case actually talking to her and them getting to know one another. Could Case not be the man she had him pegged as? Could their relationship be not strictly professional?

I love a good forced proximity book! These two have a lot of layers to peel back, and I don't know how Emma St Clair does it, but in this short novella she give the character development room to breathe and progress. I loved how Case got better and better as the book went along. And of course there is the characteristic hilarious animal scene in an Emma book that had me snickering out loud.

A fun Christmas-y novella set in the world of Sheet Cake, but can be read as a stand alone.
