Useful Work versus Useless Toil by William Morris

3.0

A slight volume of Morris’s four lectures on practical Socialism, Gothic architecture and the Decorative Arts. A manifesto of sorts, though with an obvious white male middle class privilege. Morris does acknowledge that though the beauty and pleasure of art is the solace for labour, it is those who work hardest in service to the middle classes, who are least able to enjoy them.
