Grace Randolph's Supurbia Vol. 1 by Grace Randolph, Russell Dauterman

First off, the art is not really my favourite.

On the story itself, I'm a bit shared. It's clearly a set-up volume so there's not much to bite into here. What there is, however, sways between cliché (the wife poisoning, the whole character of Eve and the reversed mysogyny with Batu) and interesting (the whole dynamic between Gio, Alexis and Paul, the characters/relationship between Supernova, reformed criminal and Hunt guy). Also low-key nicely surprised about the diversity although I'm having a hard time putting my finger on the ethnicity of Leo and Supernova...

There is definitely some intriguing stuff here, especially with the characters, and I'm looking forward to how it will pan out.
