Little White Lies by Katie Dale

3.0

The blurb supplied on the "Little White Lies" dust jacket barely scratches the surface of this twisting, winding, vengeful mystery. Dale slowly tells the tale of Lou, a girl with a mysterious past and what initially appears to be an innocent crush on her new neighbor. As the story builds, so does the tension between the reader and Lou- who may not be as trustworthy a narrator as she seems. True identities are concealed, motives are questioned, and feelings become entangled as Lou exacts her revenge on Christian, the man who has destroyed her family. Lou's plan to destroy him in return sets in motion a number of surprises that will keep both the characters and the reader on their toes and have them constantly questioning what is true.
Despite being seeped in high risk stakes and surprising plot twists, this story meanders along at an average pace. There may be enough shocks to keep readers entertained, but the clumsy character development and strange romance between the two main characters may deter some readers from falling in love with this story. This is a good pick for readers who are more interested in being surprised than emotionally involved.
