Vera Wong's Unsolicited Advice for Murderers
by Jesse Q. Sutanto
this is not your typical murder mystery. the murder is merely a plot device that brings the characters together (although the ending is quite satisfying, even though i guessed who the murderer was pretty soon).
the characters are wonderful and their interactions heartwarming. at times, it felt almost a little sickly sweet, but i enjoyed it a lot. difficult topics, like coercive control / psychological abuse and loss were treated well, i felt. i learned a lot about asian american culture(s). vera especially will stay with me for a long time. i loved the way the audiobook was narrated, too - big recommendation.
