I'm sure I read a least a few Nancy Drew books when I was younger but that was so long ago I don't remember much about them so it was very enjoyable to get stuck in to reading (re-reading?) these.  Even on holiday Nancy can't help but find herself in the middle of a mystery, even starting at the airport before she's reached her final destination of Shadow Ranch, she's picking up clues and spotting suspicious folks lurking where they shouldn't.  This time not only is she on the case to find out what lies behind the strange goings on at Shadow Ranch, she also agrees to help a new friend find her lost father, a man who has been missing for 6 months who the police are adamant was part of the gang that robbed his bank, but his daughter believes different and asks Nancy to look into it.  As ever, things become interwoven and the clues to one mystery lead into the other and visa versa and Nancy finds herself in the middle of not just a ghostly mystery and a potential kidnapping/robbery gone wrong but also smack bang in the middle of a yesteryear romance and treasure hunt.  Only Nancy Drew can unravel those threads, with the help of her friends and a spot of support from the local police of course.
