The Ghostwriter by A.R. Torre

5.0

This book is uh-mazing! This is the third book I have read of Alessandra Torre. I did not so much as expect something worthy of 5 stars, I just needed a light read. Or so I thought it was a light read. I am not one to read a story plot so I didn't really know what to expect when I dived in this book.

The Ghostwriter is such a fine read. Torre's story delivery was so great. Helena was such a conflicted character and this made me enjoy it the most. I was expecting a smutty lovestory tbh but I was so glad that it is totally not. There isn't a lovestory in this. There was no happy ending. There was only truth and lies.

The long journey of Helena and Mark writing her final book and the slow torture of peeling all Helena's layer and walls is so good. The build and the conflict of it all especially all the secrets is just beautifully written. I was working theories in my mind about what's to come and I was not able to pin point it at all and that's what I loved about the book. It never really gave you any clue of what's bound to explode. Of the ugly truth that Helena was hiding for four years. Uuggh. It was so intense and my hands were "actually" shaking when Helena was "finally" narrating all the truth of what happened and the events that lead to it. It was just so good that I know I had to give it 5 stars.

This book will stay with me for a long time and I'm sure that this will not be the last Alessandra Torre book that I will read.

MUST READ!!
