As this series progresses, it becomes more and more jam packed with action (and romance which is was 100% here for). Aelin’s close-to-the-chest secrets became a tad frustrating at times, but I’m enjoying the series more and more with each passing book.
Manon and Lysandra are the best though.
Update after rereading: I'm really enjoying this reread and am appreciating how carefully plotted and crafted the story is - Aelin is even less annoying! I really like her now (rather than just fan-girling over Manon and Lysandra). I'm about to jump into new territory (I never read Tower of Dawn) so I'm excited to get to Kingdom of Ash and find out how everything turns out.
