Nate got Wyn in trouble, which I did not enjoy.
I90 runs east-west not north-south. Sheriff is an elected office for the county, not a hired office for a city. Details like this pulled me out of the story.
This WAS all play judging by the 90% of the book that was them having sex. It was a short book, so I finished it. It would have been DNF if longer.
