I don't know why I always think I enjoy horror books. This story was terrible. The twist was awful, the plot was awful. The characters were awful. Everything was awful.

All that being said I don't mean it was awful as in poorly written, or unrealistic, or badly paced, or anything like that. I mean composition wise it was a good book, I just really didn't like the story as a personal preference.

I don't like the graphic gore. The incest was not enjoyable. The brother Ray made me extremely uncomfortable because of how real and utterly sociopathic his character felt. Which tbh is a testament to the author's writing.

The ending was kind of ambiguous, in the way that the events didn't get spelled out on page, but it's pretty obvious what happens. Whoever finds that mess is going to have a bad day.

I kinda regret reading this book. I'm going back to my fantasy romance now, I need a palate cleanser stat.
