Blue-Eyed Devil by Lisa Kleypas
2.0

This had such a promising start and then went downhill in the second half of the book. The strength of this book is the author's depiction of abuse and recovery. It was gritty, ugly, and messy.

Unfortunately, the second half of the book failed to live up to the first half. Haven became less sympathetic as the story went on, and the scenarios became more predictable and less believable. I love a good damsel in distress story with a rugged hero, but this really failed to hit the right notes.
