End of Days by Susan Ee

5.0

I love these characters and this world so much that I knew without a doubt before reading this that I would still rate this book highly no matter how inferior it may come out. (Well, aren't I the optimistic one?!) And it isn't even in the least bit inferior. This last installment definitely makes up for the lack of action in the second book. Plus, we get more Raffryn moments. Although I still wish there were a lot more--there will always not be enough Raffryn moments for me--it's the apocalypse, people! (Even though it's a fake one.)

The direction that End of Days has taken was very different from what I was expecting so I actually thought I would end up rating it with only four stars (or lower). But then I would remember all those scenes and chapters especially those near the end of the book that moved my heart so much and even caused me to tear up a bit because even though the people are losing hope, we have Penryn, Raffe and all these other characters who would do anything to keep the last dregs of humanity intact. Those scenes spoke to me and they felt real--like I was a part of the World After too.

In Tweedledee's words, "If we ever loved anything more than this, we must have called her Mommy." Yep. Truer words have never been spoken.

BTW, THAT ENDING? IT'S NOT ENOUGH!!!!!!

Note: I may be a bit biased with my rating. DON'T JUDGE ME!!
