The One For You
by Roni Loren
You know those authors that rarely disappoint? The ones that are like a comforting blanket that immerse you in a story where you actually care about the (well developed) characters and their well-being. Well, Roni Loren is one of those authors to me. She consistently writes stories about tangible, slightly flawed, likeable characters.
This book was no exception. In, what I believe, is the last 'chapter' of the "Ones Who Got Away" series, we follow Kincaid Breslin, a Long Acre survivor, who has a huge heart, an impulsive personality, and, what seems like, an endless pit of guilt.
Reading this story was an absolute delight! I was sorry when it ended....not because it was a bad ending....in fact, it was a perfect ending. I was just sad the the series had come to an end. I really fell in love with Kincaid's character. Maybe because I could identify a little with who this character was: her insecurity, her hopes, etc. Or maybe because she seemed like she would be a close friend.
Either way, another home run by Roni Loren! I am anxiously awaiting her next novel! (Girl can't write fast enough in my opinion!) :)
