I absolutely loved this one! This was a great 2nd story to the series and completely makes sense on how Charles Jenkins gets pulled back in. There are rumors going about that the female agent, Paulina, that helped him escape Russia and gave up her life to do so is possibly still alive and in a Russian prison. Jenkins can't just leave her there if it is Paulina so he is now on a mission to get back into Russia and confirm if the rumors are true or not and in order to do so, he has to get to and convince, Victor Federov (the former Russian officer who was trying to track him down last time) to help him figure out if it could be true, if it is, and then help get her out of the prison if it is truly Paulina. This story is again filled with lots of twists and turns and keeps you on the edge of your seat as you try and figure it all out. I truly enjoyed this story and was engaged the entire time. This story does not read the same as the first and is not predictable in all the twists and turns either. This was another fantastic story and while you don't have to read the first one, it does help to fully understand who Charles Jenkins is and why he would make this type of a choice again and is so determined to not leave Paulina behind if she's alive. I can't wait to see what comes next in the 3rd book of the series! This are very well written, thought out, and executed stories!
The narrator did another phenomenal job this time around (same as the first book) and continued to bring Charles Jenkins to life, as well as the other characters and the entire story. You can tell the differences between the characters, hear the emotions and actions going on in the narrators voice which just really brings the story to life.
