The internet said you could read this book as a standalone. While I would say that is technically true you do feel a little like you are walking into the middle of something that is already going on. The story is standalone the characters maybe not as much. It was a fun fast read. I loved the lore and superstitions. The other books in this series are and immediate TBR add.
