Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens

2.5

I had heard great things, and sad to say, this book utterly failed to meet them. From strangely hollow commentary on race that felt utterly out of place, to a truly not-like-other-girls main character better suited to early 00s fan fiction, the only place where this book stood out in any way was in its descriptive writing.
