I've learned that contemporary YA novels have been my anti-slump reads. reading these books always puts things into perspective for me. every time I read one, I feel like a little part of me is healed. this one was no different! I blasted through it in three days.

in this book, the MCs are two kids with good intentions who always seem to be perceived poorly. both of them approach this differently and we see them grow throughout the book. our MCs, despite being brought together through conflict, ultimately come together over time in a beautiful and natural friendship.

also, the prosopagnosia storyline paired with the dual perspectives was really interesting to read. the juxtaposition of character descriptions in each chapter was well suited to each character's perspective.

I loved this book--it was an easy read that lifted my spirits and got me out of my reading slump.
