Twelve Steps to Normal by Farrah Penn

3.0

I enjoyed a lot of the side characters, the recoverees, Alex, and Kira's dad. However, the teenagers really read like an adult trying to remember what it was like to be a teenager. Kira did not really have any self reflection until everything blew up at her. I also felt that the recovery stories being sort of flowery does a bit of a disservice to how stressful that process is even post sober-living. I wanted to enjoy it more but it was a very middle of the road read. Alex did a lot to make this book desirable read along with the recoverees.
